This is the latest single and video from the recently released 5th album, Insatiable, by the mostly instrumental doom metal project of Takiaya Reed. As with previous albums, the songs rage against colonialist genocide and systemic injustices against Indigenous and Black people. Concerning this tune, Reed stated: “There are many different approaches in order to approach something. “Withholding” is about strategy and its contemplation—how to decolonize, how to be in integrity, how to honor my ancestors, how to continue to give.”
